Woodstock School of Ballet first opened in 1985
with a commitment to offering the community the highest standards
for dance training, and related arts. Since then, students
have thrived in a professional, caring atmosphere, learning
from some of the metro area's finest instructors.
Our philosophy is to encourage students,
in a positive environment, to be self-motivated, competing
only with themselves, and to develop a sense of personal accomplishment.
Physically, students will gain strength,
coordination, flexibility, and good body alignment from their
training. Other benefits include self-confidence, poise, good
classroom manners and just plain fun!
FEBRUARY NEWS AND HAPPENINGS
CLASSES… January was fitness month and many of you took advantage of the offer to take extra classes at no charge to you! We hope you enjoyed them and maybe found some new interests. Don’t forget…you are always welcomed to makeup missed classes by coming to any class within your age range.
RECITAL FEES…Recital fees are due in March and may be included with your tuition at any time. The fee covers production costs (theater rental, programs, technical assistance, décor, set design, security, custodial fees, costume accessories, props, etc). The fee is $30.00 per family and is due before the end of March. Please remember, this is a family fee, so if you have more than one dancer, you will still only pay $30.00. Each family will receive 3 tickets to the recital. If you need more than that, tickets will be sold beginning the first week of May. We begin this month working on recital dances, and good attendance is very important! Thanks for getting those costume fees paid up! Costumes have all been ordered and are scheduled to arrive in April. Stop by the desk if you would like to see a picture of your child’s costume. Don’t forget to put the recital date, June 2, on your calendar!
CHEROKEE BALLET THEATRE…Auditions for placement in CBT’s 2012-2013 roster will be in late May. CBT Company Dance Camp is a requirement and the dates for that are June 4th thru 15th. Students who are going into 3rd through 12th grades in the fall are eligible. More info later!
SUMMER CAMPS AND CLASSES…Info on our summer classes and camps will be coming out later this month!

NEWSLETTER...Check out the newsletter archive.
TUITION…is due the first week of each month. No notice will be sent for this, but we will have monthly reminders in each newsletter. You will be billed after the 10th of the month, if payment has not been made, and a $15.00 late fee will be included. There is a $15.00 charge for returned checks. Tuition may be paid by cash or check, and you can mail this or drop it into our tuition box in the lobby. If paying by cash, always get a receipt at the front desk. If paying by check, please put your child’s name on the check if you have a different last name.
ATTIRE…is specified for each class, so please make sure you have your child outfitted properly, including hair up and limited jewelry. Put your name on all attire, and if lost, we will make sure you get it back. Don’t forget to put your name on the inside of each shoe. Dance shoes may NOT be worn outside. It is always a good idea to have a bag for shoes and accessories. Our dressing rooms can be congested at times, so if at all possible, dress before coming to class. Be sure to check the lost and found bins in each dressing room if you are missing anything!
WINTER BREAK…All classes WILL MEET as usual the week of Cherokee Co. Schools’ break in February. Our only scheduled break between now and the end of the school year is Spring Break, Monday April 2 through Saturday April 7.
“SNOW DAYS”…..Our policy states that if Cherokee Co. Schools adjourn for weather related reasons (snow, tornado warnings, etc.) so do we. This policy stands regardless of the weather conditions, so as to avoid last minute confusion. These cancellations are not made up, but you are always welcomed to come to extra classes to make up any misses that occur due to our schedule or yours. See the schedule for age-appropriate classes.
